The Drone Champions League (DCL) is taking on the challenge in establishing the rising drone racing sport as a world sport and is hosting live events at unique locations with the best pilots in the world! Visitors can experience the fascination of drone racing close to the action live on sight, on TV or via video streaming.
At the races a maximum of 10 teams with 4 pilots each are participating. After a qualification per each race a quarterfinal, a semifinal and a final in knock out mode is conducted. Per round the pilots are flying 5 so called heats. The first 4 heats 2 pilots are flying against each other, followed by a big heat in which all 4 pilots per team, meaning 8 drones in total, are battling for the win. Steering of the racing drones happens through a remote controller and video glasses in the First Person View (FPV) mode. During a race the drones reach a maximum speed of over 140 km/h and accelerate from 1-100 km/h in 1.6 seconds.
