Position: Sports & Events Practice - Senior Risk Advisor, Marsh
Patrick Vajda joined Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker, in November 2000 after 25 years spent in insurance and risk management.
A former European Manager for Sports and Events and Worldwide Events Practice Leader for the Marsh risk management network for major sporting events, he acts now as a consultant.
A member of the Refereeing Commission of the International Fencing Federation, Patrick is now President of AFCAM, which represents the 225,000 French judges and referees (all sports included) at the National Olympic Committee. He is also member of the IOC Athletes’ Entourage Commission.
He was closely involved in organizing the risk management team for the Winter Games ‘92, ‘94, ‘98, 2006, 2010 and 2014 and for the Summer Games ‘92, ‘96, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012.
He was also risk manager of the FIFA World Cup in 1998 in France and Paris Saint-Denis 2003 Athletic World Championships. He was also involved in the risk management programme for the Asian Cup Qatar 2011.
